I am abstract more than you can imagine, because I am realistic more than you may understand.

Discussing abstract principles and concepts is more than necessary to approach realistic issues appropriately.  Some people may see that there is an irreconcilable contradiction between abstractions and factual realities, but this is nothing but a superficial look at the issue.

Every group of people or community has some kind of abstract thought, through which their values and social axioms are supported and fixed.  On the other hand, trying to dismiss serious discussions that focus on abstract thoughts leads gradually to an illusive or mistaken notions and points of view, because at that time there will be no escape from falling into some kind of hedonism or following of momentary values that cannot answer the real questions.
let’s take an example about a daily life issue, such as sex.  Refusing to discuss this idea from an abstract point of view first, i.e, discussing its essence, purpose and its moral and spiritual side leads to the denial of the real questions about it, and that will eventually lead to a very superficial concept about this phenomenon, and that’s not reality anyway.

The same could be said about work, lifestyle, education…etc.

Saying that the importance lays in what we see and feel, or what is common in the society gives no conceptual understanding of reality, because reality is a compound entity.  It consists of phenomenal and ontological components, and it’s well rooted in culture, history and environment.   Ignoring the abstract and theoretical sides of any issue or phenomenon means certainly that we are not on the way of understanding the practical reality.

The history itself witnesses that the societies with strong and rich abstract philosophical heritage are the ones who could develop a very practical civilized lifestyle, and the same societies which have begun to neglect the abstract discussions and tended to take things for granted are facing now very serious devastating moral, economic and social disasters which seem yet to come.

Perhaps it’s true to say that even if abstracts are not physically or realistically existent but as mental ideals, but they’re prominently and profoundly necessary to understand the factual realities.
